Your family campsite Aux Coeurs Vendéens in Saint-Jean-de-Monts has been reducing its ecological impact for many years. Our campsite is recognised as a “quality campsite”. In addition to the 250 criteria on which this label is based, this means that the environment is valued and respected. With the “Engagés pour une destination durable” label, promoted by the Pays de Saint-Jean-de-Monts, you’re guaranteed an even more responsible holiday.

A moderate energy footprint

The installation of photovoltaic panels has cut the campsite’s annual electricity bill by around 45%.

Low-energy lamps and twilight switches have been installed. These provide dim lighting when the sunlight is too weak. They switch off at dawn.

The pool is heated by a heat pump. A suction boiler for the hot water in the sanitary facilities and solar panels for the hot water in the snack bar complete the improvements in terms of electricity. Our new swimming pool is itself equipped with a solar-powered sunroof. In terms of thermal insulation, some of the windows in the rental accommodation have been replaced.

Green” transport favoured

By 2022, the campsite will have 2 electric charging points for vehicles. Cycling is also a priority at our campsite. Everything is done to make cyclists and cycle tourists feel at home! You can hire bikes on site and go for a ride on the beach, in the forest or in the marshes. Clear information on cycle paths and greenways is provided for holidaymakers. You’ll also find out all about public transport. At the campsite, a new, less polluting lorry is starting its rounds.

Responsible purchasing

Our cleaning products are certified organic or ecological. A welcome kit is offered to customers, with all the necessary eco-labelled hygiene products.

Sustainable waste management

Selective sorting is facilitated throughout the campsite. A used battery collector is available at the campsite reception. Pre-collection bags are given to our guests on arrival. A composter is available, as is the ONF green waste shredder.

Water saved

All our accommodation has been fitted with timed and flow-limiting taps. Regular checks are carried out on the pipes. Watering is done using well water and a drip system has been installed. Natural vegetation is used throughout the campsite grounds.
